Local Residents - Learn About New Forest Aviation History

The FONFA Heritage Centre is the only display and reference library dedicated to protecting the history and heritage of the airfields that were operational in the New Forest.

Aviation Historians

How much do you know about the tremendous part that the twelve New Forest Airfields played during WWII and especially D-Day. Why were some airfields only operational for 3 or 4 months?  What is left of the airfields today?

Aeroplane Enthusiasts

Aeroplane enthusiasts, particularly those with an interest in British and American WW II warbirds, will find information on the aircraft that operated from the New Forest Airfields with many models, photographs and prints.

Family Historians

Researching your family history? If you have family members who might have been based in the New Forest whilst serving in the military  or just read the pilot's stories to understand the bravery and dedication of those who served in the New Forest.

Visitors to the New Forest

If you are visiting the New Forest, drop into the FONFA Heritage Centre to learn more about the vital role that the New Forest Airfields played during WWII, enhance your knowledge of the aviation heritage of the Forest and enjoy refreshments in our Heritage Centre Cafe.
