FONFA at the New Forest Volunteering Fair Sunday 29th January 2023

The New Forest Volunteering Fair was held ‘face to face’ again, at the end of January, after two years in which it was cancelled and then held ‘on line’. The larger venue, at Brockenhurst Village Hall, proved successful, for both the display stands and for the brief PowerPoint presentations, showing off individual Charities’ offerings and opportunities. The numbers attending beat past records, with over 900 visitors during the day, between 10 am and 3.30 pm.

FONFA was represented by Trustee Board Members Edwin Levett, Dave Connor and Henry Goodall. Several new members enlisted and volunteers offered their time for the Heritage Centre, later in the year. Model aircraft and leaflets were displayed on the stand. We heard a number of interesting stories about family members involved in WWII, from those visiting the stand. FONFA needs all the publicity we can get, so this event is an important opportunity to show and discuss our activities with interested parties.
