Servicemen & Women

Tens of thousands of Servicemen and Women as well as civilian staff were involved in the development and operation of the New Forest Airfields. The flying crew drew on pilots from over 20 different nationalities. Some of the many pilot’s stories can be accessed in our reference and archives below.

Air Forces Escape & Evasion

Many air crew who found themselves behind enemy lines were fortunate to be helped to evade capture or escape by brave local individuals and resistance organisations. AFEES represents all allied air crew who found themselves in this situation and the brave resistance men and women who assisted them.
