Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans (MAFCSV) annual commemorative event October 2025
FONFA board member Richard Grycz attended and laid a wreath on behalf of FONFA on the 26th ofOctober 2025, at the Memorial Association for Free Czechoslovak Veterans (MAFCSV) annual commemorative event, at the Brookwood Military Cemetery in Surrey.
Attending were Lieutenant Colonel Hibbs, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Surrey, His Excellency Mr. Bartuška, the new Czech Ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Susko, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic.
Also attending were The Mayor of Woking Cllr Boote and distinguished representatives of the British Army and Royal Air Force Major Holden and Air Commodore Harper.
The Czech Defence Attachés General Heger, Colonel Sliacky, WO Podzimek, and Ms Aneta Kovářová, (new Czech Embassy press secretary) were also present.
Frimley and Camberley Cadet Corps and the Czech Scouts from Kamenicky, delivered a fantastic parade under the guidance of Parade Marshall Sgt. Collier.
Representatives of the Czech and Slovak Schools placed wooden poppy crosses on the graves. There was also a moving Prayer for Peace by the Czech School without Borders of London. “May the values and sacrifices of our veterans live on in our youth”. (MAFCSV)
