FONFA ATTENDING SUMMER EVENTS
FONFA will be attending the New Forest Show on the Tuesday 28th,Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th July . https://www.newforestshow.co.uk/ we will be in the Heart of the New Forest section.
The Burley Village Show on Saturday 1st August https://www.burleyvillageshow.co.uk/
The Ellingham Show on Saturday 8th August. https://ellinghamshow.co.uk/
This is part of our community engagement programme where we inform people about the Airfields of the New Forest before, during and after WW2,the pilots who flew from them and the personnel who served on them.
We also inform people of the Airfields memorial and the Heritage centre.
These events gives us the opportunity to attract new visitors to the centre, new members and new volunteers.
Importantly it also gives us the opportunity to raise much needed funds via book , merchandise sales and our ever popular raffle. I still remember the look on the elderly gentleman’s face when he won the ladies head scarf. Our volunteers donate some interesting items for the raffle!
