Tarrant Rushton Airfield 82nd Anniversary Commemoration D-Day

I was honoured to attend a short informal service and lay a wreath at Tarrant Rushton yesterday evening.

The service is in remembrance of the six gliders that took off from there to capture Pegasus Bridge ahead of the D-Day landings.

I feel it important that FONFA should support local Aviation Friends groups ,which as we do, keep alive the memory of so many brave young people especially on this day.

The service is held annually on the evening of the 5th June.
