A beatiful sunny day provided an ideal backdrop for a brief wreath laying ceremony at the New Forest Airfields Memorial.

- [FONFA at the New Forest Volunteering Fair Sunday 29th January 2023](https://fonfa.co.uk/fonfa-at-the-new-forest-volunteering-fair-sunday-29th-january-2023/): (Copyright-New Forest District Council – photo reproduced with permission) The New Forest Volunteering Fair was held ‘face to face’ again, at the end of January, after two years in which it was cancelled and then held ‘on line’. The larger venue, at Brockenhurst Village Hall, proved successful, for both the display stands and for the brief PowerPoint presentations, showing off individual Charities’ offerings and opportunities. The numbers attending beat past records, with over 900 visitors during the day, between 10 am and 3.30 pm. FONFA was represented by Trustee Board Members Edwin Levett, Dave Connor and Henry Goodall. - [2022 REMEMBRANCE SERVICE AT THE AIRFIELDS MEMORIAL](https://fonfa.co.uk/2022-remembrance-service-at-the-airfields-memorial/): The 2022 service took place on Sunday 13th November. We were joined by over 130 including our friends from the Motorcycle group and the 1st St John Scout group from Woking. Russell’s poignant bugle playing set the scene. Thanks to everyone who came to show their respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

- [20TH ANNIVERSARY SERVICE AT THE AIRFIELDS MEMORIAL 2022](https://fonfa.co.uk/20th-anniversary-service-at-the-airfields-memorial-2022/): On Saturday 3rd September 2022 we held a service at the FONFA New Forest Airfields Monument to mark the 20th anniversary of the building of the monument that keeps the memory alive of those who served at the New Forest Airfields during World War 2. Both local dignitaries and national representatives joined the service and then enjoyed a fly past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flights wonderful Lancaster. The sight and sound of this magnificent aircraft flying over Holmsley South brought back many memories.
- [2020 New Forest National Park Volunteer Fair](https://fonfa.co.uk/2020-new-forest-national-park-volunteer-fair/): FONFA was well represented at the annual New Forest Volunteer Fair at Lyndhurst Community Centre on Sunday January 26th, by Trustee Board Members (left to right) Edwin Levett, John Brooks, Lynn Corbin and Chair of Trustees, Dr Henry Goodall. The Fair, which welcomed over 760 visitors during the day, is a valuable way to ‘spread the word’ about voluntary organisations and their activities, in the New Forest area, and to make new contacts. Here are Ian Potts and John Levesley telling the FONFA story and promoting both the Memorial and the new Museum with the aim of encouraging some extra volunteers so we can open the Museum more often and keep the Memorial clean and smart for events there. Forty six organisations had stands in the Lyndhurst Community Centre and 500 visitors attended.

These are often both hard work and great fun. The photo below gives a flavour of what we have done, from our own Aviation History Fairs, numerous fairs and exhibitions, the wonderful 2014 event at Lymington on the old landing ground, RAF Ibsley events and helping provide both models and displays for the WW2 room at Hurst Castle.
